Project: Eden's Garden Fan Project Guidelines

Author: Benjamin "Sweden" Jillson

Hello my little PJEGlets, if you don't know who I am, I'm Sweden, the lead programmer for Project: Edens Garden. I'd like to start this by saying thank you to everyone who has supported me and the team. I've met so many of you at conventions and I've enjoyed meeting you guys. It has been such an honor and a privilege to be apart of such an amazing project. Seriously, thank you.

Now, to business.

I am going to tell you something that, as of writing this, no PJEG staff member will directly say: I do not want a PJEG revival. Ya'll don't understand what you're getting into. There are a multitude of reasons for this. Most of which aren't important to this page and therefore have been moved to it's own separate page Why I don't want PJEG revivials.

That said, it would be insanely hypocritical of us to actually try to stop you from doing so. Not to mention it's likely we can't. However, considering creative works themselves are protected by copyright, and with my contributions to DREditor (which is like the entirety of PJEG) , I intend to exercise those rights in whatever fashion possible. The biggest reason discussed in the previously mentioned link being to protect my portfolio work. (If you don't understand what I mean by that, click the previously mentioned link). Now with all that said:

Here are the rules I'd like PJEG revivals to follow if you've decided to make a PJEG revival using my contributions to DREditor and your project contains ANY of the original assets.

Note: This also includes Video Series Projects that use DREditor. If you're a Video series and you are NOT using DREditor, then I don't know why you're here, literally nothing of what I'm saying applies to you since my work wouldn't be used with what you're doing.

Note: Please don't become the reason that I have to add to this list, interpret what I mean by this however you like.

Revival Ruleset

  • You cite somewhere in your project/video that DREditor was used for the content. (I genuinely don't care when or where , just so long as it's somewhere reasonably visible, preferable examples include video descriptions and game splash screens or itch.io descriptions.
  • Please include the itch.io link to the original project labeled as CREDIT TO THE ORIGINAL PROJECT: to somewhere reasonably visible, see previously mentioned examples.
  • Your projects name cannot include "Project: Eden's Garden" or any variations or inclusions of the individual words that you could write it. Your projects name cannot include variations of "Eden's" or "Garden". "Project:" Is an exception though, since it's actually common to have that prefix on project names like "Project: Winter" etc.
  • If your project is a game, please reach out to me and include the original credits list in your credits scene; you can do so once you've got your DREditor set up and I'll give you them.
  • If your project meets the necessary criteria, reach out and register your project with me so I can put you on the good noodle list. (See Project Criteria)

That's it. Just credit the original and just don't make it share the name so they're distinguishable... What? You thought I was gonna cuff ya'll with restrictions? Hunt you guys down? Who do you think I am?! [Insert Company here]!?

I don't really care what you do so long as your use of DREditor follows the above and doesn't break the actual legal license. Go wild otherwise, have fun.

And to reward projects who have followed this in good faith. I figured why not share their links so that people can keep track of their development! For your project to qualify, your project must meet the following criteria:

Project Criteria

  • The Revival Ruleset has been followed.
  • You have some form of social media with a follower count of 1k. (Discord server member amount counts!)

Reasoning is so I don't have to constantly update the Registry that much if projects die, which is very common in our community. I'm willing to reduce things if the community thinks this is too much. If you've followed all these rules then you've earned yourself a spot on the Good Noodle List
